Darrel Ralph is one of the true geniuses in the modern knife industry. He is also an accomplished custom knife maker whose work is among the most sought-after in history. His innovation and engineering is among the top designers today. In addition to his own Custom Knife Designs, Darrel has provided technical insights into the mechanical designs and engineering for many knife companies around the world.
Darrel Ralph’s knives combine both high-tech and artistic styling. Each one has excellent design but is also fully functional. Darrel is an extremely versatile maker, doing his own engraving, carving, goldsmith, jewelry design and production. Darrel makes all kinds of knives including investment grade, high-tech folders with unique mechanisms such as the reputable Meyerco 18-X Ray knives. “Darrel himself is considered part of an elite group known for their quality and design abilities.” says Tactical Knives Magazine. When you look at any knife from the Darrel Ralph collection there is no doubt that style is as important as function. Ralph says, “I have extensively studies art and have worked professionally in the metal manufacturing industry for twenty five years. I am often commissioned by knife makers on special projects utilizing mosaic and special patterned Damascus. My art influences come from Michelangelo, Frazetta, and medieval futuristic.” Function and purpose are everything in a DDR knife, the amazing designs that he comes up with are just the icing on the cake. In addition to his own distinctive Meyerco designs, Darrel has also provided technical insights into the mechanical design and engineering of many of our other knives.
